Sapiens

An epic, anthropological look at the of the history of Homo Sapiens. I read Sapiens while at the beach and could barely put it down. The book covers humankind from early hunter gatherers (where we were not the only humans-there were at least six other human species, including Neanderthals), through the cognitive, agricultural and scientific revolutions. I left with an appreciation of just how much change our way of life has undergone in the past few centuries compared with millennia of barely-changing hunter-gathering and what that means for our ecosystem, our culture and our psychological well-being.
