Quit Like a Millionaire

I’ve personally never seriously considered it, but the FIRE Financial Independence, Retire Early) movement has always fascinated me. Essentially these are folks that go through a program of extreme savings to gain financial independence and retire in their 30s or 40s. Kristy Shen and Bryce Leung are a couple who pulled it off and wrote about how they did it in Quit Like a Millionaire. The book is 50% personal anecdotes (Kristy grew up in communist China) and stuff that any personal finance guru knows (e.g. index funds, IRA strategies, etc.). Some of the lifestyle ideas are wild, like saving on rent/mortgage by not having an apartment or home and just traveling all year but the book contains some new (to me) practical insights and strategies for reducing tax burden and creating income from investments. Overall interesting read
